Best run short!
My favorite run short. Comfortable, light, no chafing. I am a big fan of the small pockets for a Gu or a key. Slightly longer leg which I enjoy and use them for stand-up paddle boarding and leisure. Very durable. Last for YEARS.

de Soto’s Solana Run Shorts
Arguably, the best sport short in the market...it is comfortable (read: no chafing), ergonomically efficient, stylish and durable (my last pair lasted 8yrs under all types of conditions, internal and external!)

Love the Solana Run Short
I’ve worn several styles of De Soto Sport run shorts over the past 30 years, and they’re always being improved. The Solana Run Short is no exception. The inner liner is very comfortable for long runs, and the length is perfect for me. And I love the the red color!

Versatile and durable
Definitely a more snug fit than the Tuesday short, but better overall for water sports. Love the quality as usual and fantastic cut!

The Solana Run Short is part of my new uniform for coaching cross country! They are super comfy with the smaller width waistband and the roomy legs. The 7” inseam also provides a little extra leg coverage which is nice to cover my cycling tan lines!

Could be better.
Everything I have ever been bought from DeSoto has been exceptional, but the cut of these shorts needs a little work. The bottom leg opening feels like it tapers, is too small and restricts movement. If it had a few small tweaks (like a relief cut on the side as many shorts have) it would be quite a bit better for running. I have turned these into a pair of swim trunks instead of running shorts.

Solana Run Short*
Excellent running short. Enjoy the shirts length, mesh pockets and the ease of the Velcro closures. Just need to mend the Velcro seams occasionally.

A great short!
This is my third purchase from De Soto. I bought two pairs of the Tuesday Running Short about 18 years ago and they still serve me nicely. My recent purchase of the Solana Run Short was no less perfect. These are my favorite shorts for my daily 4 mile run as well as my weekly swim at the pool. Thank you for making a great product that holds up over many years!

Great Shorts
These shorts are fantastic! I now own seven pairs of Tuesday Run shorts, 5 pairs of Solana Run shorts, and 2 pairs of Solana Run shorts (...and I wish they were still around so I could get more). DeSoto shorts are so well made and comfortable, they’re the only shorts I wear to work out.

Quality, Sturdy Run shorts
Out of the package I did a 10 mile run in hot humid Florida weather. After 5 miles I was totally soaked with sweat from head to toe. No issues with chafing. The internal liner is very comfortable. The external short material is a bathing suit/board short type material (as it says in their description). It is not light weight. It is stiff and very durable material, not like a typical run short. I noticed some resistance along the seam lines of the side pockets as I ran, but nothing too concerning. I have since done 10 additional runs all with no issues. As far as durability, time will tell on the internal liner. I expect the exterior short material will never wear out.

How does DS profit from these?
I have no idea since you can buy one pair and they’ll last you a lifetime! Absolutely the most rugged run shorts I own. Plus, somehow, they don’t get heavy when wet. The only thing I wish would be wider pockets – big enough for these larger cell phones, with fat protective cases. Also a small, inside, secure pocket to stow a car key or fob, would be nice, too. Otherwise, the best shorts I’ve ever used.

I do run in these shorts and they are absolutely great for training, but the reason I bought these shorts were for hiking the John Muir Trail in CA. I wore this shorts for 13 days straight and they were perfect in every way. We walked more than 12 hours daily and I had no chafing at all. The liner was very comfortable. The shorts were very quick drying after getting wet or washing. The side pockets held my plus size phone, pocket knife, chap stick and a polarizing lens and cloth for my camera. These shorts are perfect for any kind of training. I’ve had these shorts for a few months now and they still look brand new. I would not hesitate to buy another pair. I highly recommend them!

Solana Run Shorts
I keep coming back to these shorts because they are just the right amount of loose-fitting fit my running needs. They appear to bei pretty indestructible too. I'm on my 3rd pair now and the oldest ones still look almost new. I also really like the mesh pockets and the way they are closed with the velcro patches. Hopefully DeSoto will make them for a long time...

I needed a way to carry two hydration flasks for a six mile uphill leg of a local relay event. I purchased the Solana shorts primarily for the side pockets. It sounds silly to say that was my primary reason but, I went to the DeSoto website because I knew I would find what I was looking for. The shorts fit comfortably and the material was very soft. I'm sure the reader can understand the need to focus on the task at hand and not how apparel fits and feels during the event. These shorts were perfect in that regard and I highly recommend them.

Solana Run Short Happy
I like the net pockets that it holds my iphone and squeeze apple sauce packs yet when running they do not fling about. Very comfortable and no chafing even after 10 hot sweaty miles.

Solana - Best Short Period
This is my go-to short. Most comfortable. Most versatile. (and they only get better/softer with age.) It's been many years since I've purchased anything else and I have no plans to change things up.
