The best to wear all day
I’m a dog agility judge. That means I stand for up to 10 hours/day in all types of conditions watching dogs run obstacle courses, and wearing a mask. Outside on cold damp grass in the morning that turns to full sun and blistering heat in the afternoon. Inside dirty dusty barns that can be cool and muddy in the morning and hot, stifling, and muggy in the afternoons. I need a mask that is comfortable, that I can breathe through, that is not overly hot and that I hope protects others and maybe even me a little. I have tried a dozen different styles of masks and types from different designs made by friends from a few different materials to paper masks and even an N95 mask. The Desoto masks are it. They check all the boxes. They are shaped to be almost gapless (a little gap under the eyes, unfortunately), very comfortable, soft, and they are not hot! The n95 was amazingly hot after about an hour (and doesn’t protect others). All the other masks got damp very quickly. Many sucked in every time I breathed, which is very uncomfortable, the Desoto hold their shape and give a little pocket which is much more comfortable to breathe through. The Desoto masks are not only the only acceptable masks, they are downright good. They also look good. Even these need changed at least once/day and better to change more often than that for both safety and comfort. Since I only have 2, I’ve been washing them out at night and hanging them and they dry by the morning. I will be buying a couple more. I intend to try the triple layer as well, if it’s as comfortable I will appreciate the potential extra protection.
