How to Video/Product Care
HOW TO MOUNT THE PAD TO YOUR SADDLE:
- Start by carefully folding the back of the pad over the front so you can see down the nose of the pad.
- Stand behind your bike with your legs straddled over the rear wheel.
- Then place the pad over the nose of the saddle using your thumbs and index fingers, then gently pull the pad over.
- Use gentle pulls to get the pad completely on.
- Remember to take your time doing this.
Spread the front of the folded pad so you are holding it as shown in the photo (below) before pulling it over the nose.
CARE FOR YOUR SADDLE SEAT PAD:
Your Saddle Seat Pad is made of GreenGoma™ Wetsuit Rubber. It is laminated with Skin Cooler fabric so there is less friction between your shorts and the pad. Occasional washing may be required depending on how much you sweat, or ride after swimming in salt water, or chlorinated water.
- Hand wash in a sink with 1 quart (1 liter) of cold water
- Add a tablespoon (15ml) of wetsuit shampoo or hair shampoo
- Gently rub the fabric side with a small face towel
- Rinse well in cold water
- Allow to dry indoors and avoid excessive sun exposure
HAVE A BEHIND THE SEAT (BTS) BOTTLE CAGE?
If so, and you need assistance in getting your Pad to fit properly, write us at: contact@desotosport.com
Please include the brand and model of saddle and cage. Photos would be helpful too. Please read below:
- Cut the pad only as a last resort.
- Try mounting the pad by tucking in or folding any excess rubber around the stem of the cage.
- If you find you need to cut any part of the pad to make it fit, remember first cutting the pad voids our return guarantee and repair warranty.
- The best way to make cuts into neoprene that has fabric like ours, is the make "crescent moon" cuts with very sharp scissors. This means to start cutting on the edge in a curved shape and finish on the edge.
- In the image below there are two sizes of crescent moon cuts. This sort of continuous cut from end to end will reduce the chance of the rubber from tearing.
